No. 7 Women's Basketball Overwhelms Taylor For 15th Straight Win

No. 7 Indiana Wesleyan women's basketball made the 12-mile drive to Upland on Wednesday night for this season's second matchup against rival Taylor University. The Wildcats overwhelmed the Trojans offensively and brought home a 90-57 win to extend their winning streak to 15 games. 

THE ESSENTIALS

     •Location: Upland, Ind. | Odle Arena

     • Records: IWU - 23-3, 15-1 CRL | TU 15-11, 8-8 CRL

     •NAIA Top-25 Rankings: IWU - #7 | TU – Unranked

WHAT HAPPENED

     •Both teams shot over 60% from the field in the first quarter as IWU held a narrow 24-23 lead.

     •Seven Wildcats registered points in the second and their lead grew to 52-32 at halftime.

     •Jade Nutley scored 11 points on 5-6 FG in the 3rd frame and IWU continued to pile it on for a 80-45 lead after three quarters.

     •Indiana Wesleyan earned their largest lead of the game of 41 points in the 4th quarter on their way to the 90-57 final.

NOTABLE NUMBERS

     •5 – Five different Wildcats reached double-figures.

     •15 – Indiana Wesleyan's 15 wins in a row are the 3rd longest active win streak in the NAIA.

     •44 – The Wildcats showcased their depth with 44 points off their bench.

     •90 – IWU's 90 points are their 3rd-highest total of the season.
